Health and Safety Guidelines

The health and safety of attendees is a priority for Diversity Abroad. Together with the Westin Peachtree Plaza, we continue to closely monitor the guidelines of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),  the World Health Organization (WHO), and local health authorities regarding COVID-19.. The hotels’ health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from handwashing hygiene, to cleaning product specifications for guest rooms and common area cleaning procedures.

Vaccines & Proof of a Negative Test

We ask all attendees to be fully vaccinated (at least 2 weeks prior to the conference) and that all attendees choosing to attend in-person will be required to provide proof of a negative antigen within 48 hours or pcr covid test within 72 hours of entering the hotel. No one will be admitted to conference events without this proof. If for health or religious reasons you are not able to be vaccinated, please contact us at [email protected]

Travel Guidelines

You must follow all current CDC guidelines for travel, whether you’re flying international or domestic.

Masks

Diversity Abroad asks that all attendees, regardless of vaccination status,  wear masks or face covering during conference related events except when eating or drinking. Masks will be available onsite if you need one. Hand sanitizer is located throughout the hotel.

We ask that attendees be mindful of each other’s comfort level when sharing spaces and letting attendees know about protocols such as whether it is okay not to handshake or hug and to always respect others’ personal space.

How many attendees are expected onsite?

We anticipate  100-200 attendees in Atlanta, which will be a chance for a more intimate gathering. Our last in-person conference in Boston in 2019 had 700 attendees, and we anticipate majority of attendees will join us virtually.

Will attendees be required to social distance at the conference?

Currently, there are no social distancing mandates in Atlanta.  We have designed the schedule to allow attendees to take advantage of the space in the hotel and also attend sessions, if they wish, from their hotel room.

We ask that attendees be mindful of each other’s comfort level when sharing spaces and letting attendees know about protocols such as whether it is okay not to handshake or hug and to always respect others’ personal space.
